Protection against condensation
With liquid-cooled units, warm air can condense on the cold
surfaces of the pipes and heat sink. This condensation depends
on the air humidity and the temperature difference between the
ambient air and the coolant. The higher the humidity level, the
smaller the temperature difference at which condensate will
form. The water which is produced as a result of condensation
can cause corrosion as well as electrical damage such as
creepage shorts and flashovers. The solenoid valve (-Y1)
integrated in the converter regulates the coolant temperature
according to the temperature of the ambient air and thus
effectively protects the unit against condensation.
