The times are shown in the diagram.
Torque/time curve as a function of excitation voltage

AC-side switching – extended engaging time (delayed
response of the brake). The disengaging time is the same
as for DC-side switching.

DC-side switching – short activation time, short engaging time
(quick response of the brake).
