Great performance in a compact design
SIMOTICS HV Series A-compact PLUS
The development of the A-compact PLUS series was focused on
achieving the highest degree of reliability and lowest envelope
dimensions. As a result, the A-compact PLUS high voltage motor
fulfills both of these requirements: Reliable power and compact
design.
A-compact PLUS motors are
designed for highly reliable oper-
ation of standard applications. Simplified order and optimized
production processes result in considerably shorter delivery
times. This reduces lifecycle costs and leads to stable produc-
tion processes.
If an extensive range of options or highly customized motors are
required, the SIMOTICS HV Series H-compact PLUS, which is
produced in the manufacturing location Nuremberg in Germany,
is the right choice.

Design with modular top-mounted cooling units
Internal ventilation circuit
A uni-directional fan is mounted on the motor shaft at the drive
end.
This fan blows air through the rotor and the air gap. Both the rotor
and stator are constructed with radial air ducts in which the cool-
ing air, driven by the rotor, flows outwards and provides intensive
cooling of the rotor and stator.
External cooling circuit
The cooling units for the various cooling methods are isolated
from the stator housing vibration and can be
mounted/dismounted without disconnection of electrical termi-
nals on the motor.
1RA1/1RP1 motor: open-circuit cooling IP23/IP24W
The cooling air is drawn in laterally below the housing by the fan
mounted on the shaft, guided through the motor and expelled
axially at the NDE as warm air.
1RQ1 motor: air-to-air cooling IP55
A uni-directional external fan is fitted to the NDE of the motor
shaft. This drives the cooling air through the tubes. The air exits
axially at the drive end.
1RN1 motor: air-to-water cooling IP55
Independent of the ambient conditions the top-mounted air-to-
water heat exchanger always ensures the highest cooling power
– with minimum thermal dissipation to the immediate environ-
ment.
