Minimum pulleys number of teeth and minimum idler diameter.
Idlers are frequently a mean to apply strain to the drive when the center distance is fixed but also to increase the number of teeth in mesh to the small pulley. A toothed idler on the inside of the belt on the loose side is recommended with respect to a back side idler. Drives with inside flat idlers are not recommended as noise and irregular belt wear may occur.
• Diameter for inside idler must be >= of the diameter of the small pulley in the drive
• Idler should be positioned respecting: 2 x (small pulley diameter
+ large pulley diameter) < Center distance
• Idler must be installed on a stiff support
• Idlers width should be >= of pulley width
• Idler position is on the loose side range of the belt drive
