This reliable series of Brevini PIV gearboxes, with attached or integrated thrust bearing, can be supplied as bevel or helical gear. The Brevini Single Screw Extruder Drives of the POSIREX series are completely made in Germany.
The modular design of this gearbox series is based on our range of helical and bevel helical gearboxes, plus appropriate thrust bearing-parts which are readily available. Mounting position horizontal or vertical, splash lubrication and cooling coil with or without injection lubrication are possible options.
This Brevini PIV series is based on our widespread experience in the plastics & rubber industry, with more than 20,000 drive units being produced in Germany and providing their reliability and performance day by day in extrusion, compounding and injection moulding machines.
Brevini Single Screw Extruder Drives
Continuously working single screw extruders, on account of their materials processing technology and construction make – on a certain extent unconnected – two demands on the drive assembly: to be able of transmitting the high torques for compressing and plasticising moulding materials and synthetics, required for fibre line production and capability of absorbing the high thrust load induced by the process.
While the first point determines gearbox size and ratio, the axial forces and desired bearing life govern the axial bearing and its housing. In order to obtain an economical drive assembly which is adapted in the best possible way to the materials processing technical demands, PIV Drives has developed the Brevini Single Screw Extruder Drives.
