DR…J variant Sew Eurodrive synchronous motors (LSPM technology)
Are you looking for a motor with the highest level of energy efficiency and a compact design? In that case, the DR…J Sew Eurodrive synchronous motors with LSPM technology might be of interest to you: one motor which covers three efficiency classes. IE2, IE3 and IE4.
The energy-efficient motor concept
The Line Start Permanent Magnet (LSPM) motor is an AC asynchronous motor which contains additional permanent magnets in the rotor with a squirrel cage. After an asynchronous start, the motor synchronizes with the operating frequency and runs in synchronous mode. A motor technology which opens up new, flexible possible applications for you in drive technology.
The synchronous motors do not show any rotor losses in operation. They have an impressive degree of efficiency while maintaining a very compact design. In the same efficiency class, a DR..J motor with LSPM technology is two frame sizes smaller than a standard motor of the same power rating.
Comparison example:
A standard DRE.. motor with 1.1 kW power rating of size 90 M meets the requirements of energy efficiency class IE2. By contrast, thanks to LSMP technology, you now use “only” one DRE..J of the smaller size 80S for IE2. Efficient and profitable!
With the DR…J motors (LSPM technology), we, as a motor manufacturer, have succeeded in combining the advantages of the durable and robust asynchronous motor with those of the low-loss, compact synchronous motor. For greater efficiency in your applications.
DRM.. series Sew Eurodrive torque motors
When opening doors, setting switches or when operating press tools, the system has to reach a certain position and maintain it safely. Our Sew Eurodrive torque motors DRM.. are particularly reliable at doing this.
Short movement – Safe Torque Off
The DRM.. is a 12-pole motor that is designed for operation with rated torque at standstill. This makes it the optimum drive for all applications in which a stop position is reached after a short movement and has to be maintained safely. Torque motor is the usual designation for motors of this type.
At SEW-EURODRIVE you will find the right motor for various requirements and speeds together in one gear unit. This is because we offer every torque motor in three rated torques. Furthermore, the DRM.. is also constantly thermally safe and protected when the rotor is blocked.
Our torque motor requires a 3-phase mains supply. The electrical design allows the torque motors to be operated in duty cycle S1 with 100% cyclic duration factor when the rotor is blocked.
This means that the torque motor constantly provides the full permissible torque. However, should your application require a particularly high starting torque for only a short time, we would recommend duty cycle S3. In this duty cycle, the motor runs a cyclic duration factor of 15% and, in this way, reaches up to three/five times the rated torque. Ideal for press tools, for example.
It goes without saying that everything fits together for torque motors and you can use many additional features of the DR.. modular motor system.
DRK..series Sew Eurodrive single-phase motors
The running capacitor integrated in the terminal box is the special feature of our DRK.. Sew Eurodrive single-phase motors. This does not only make the motor especially compact, it also enables application areas up to degree of protection IP66.
The compact single-phase motor with built-in running capacitor
Be it in Europe and the USA or in Brazil: you can operate the DRK.. motors in many power supplies because they are available in 50 Hz or 60 Hz with 220 V or 230 V. In total, there are six sizes available in the power range of 0.18 kW to 1.1 kW.
If you do not require a high starting torque in your applications, e.g. for fans, pumps or compactors, we recommend the DRK.. with integrated running capacitor. The motor becomes more compact as the running capacitor is housed directly in the terminal box. This means that approx. 45% to 50% of the nominal torque is available for start-up.
It goes without saying that everything fits together for single-phase motors and you can use many additional features of the DR.. modular motor system.
DAS.. series Sew Eurodrive aseptic motors
We supply Sew Eurodrive aseptic motors and the drive package ASEPTIC specifically for use in hygienic areas. Technology that is tailored perfectly to sensitive production areas for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Aseptic motors: Tidy and easy-to-clean
We develop and produce aseptic motors with special equipment for hygienically sensitive production areas. The DAS.. series is ideal for use in your sensitive production areas such as in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics or food and beverage industry. Even if an absolutely clean production environment is prescribed, you can safely use the motors in connection with the drive package ASEPTIC.
Two significant properties of the DAS.. series motors are sure to interest you:
1. In contrast to standard motors, which are equipped with cooling fins, the surface of our aseptic motors is as smooth as is possible. This makes them dirt-repellent.
2. Standard motors have a fan, our motors do not: they are convection-cooled. This means that they cause no air turbulences and, consequently, do not distribute any germs and bacteria.
The cleaning processes for the production system that are essential in those types of production areas are just as problem-free and practicable. Equipped with the appropriate surface and corrosion protection measures, you can safely apply aggressive cleaning agents and disinfectants with these motors or the drive package ASEPTIC . This is because the painting and materials used withstand the regular cleaning procedures.
